Congrats VUHRD December Grads & Newly Certified Students!
VUHRD wants to give a huge round of congratulations to all of our December graduates and those students who passed one of the certification exams this month! We know the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice you have made to get to this point and we are SO excited for the next steps in your journey!
This winter testing window marked the first time that SHRM offered a student eligibility option for the SHRM-CP exam. Students in their final year of study in the Villanova HRD program, which is aligned to SHRM's curriculum guidelines, who had 500 hours of relevant HR experience were able to sit for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam. VUHRD had several students take advantage of this option, and we are very excited to share this option with more students in the future. Here are the thoughts of two of our December grads and students who tested and passed the SHRM-CP under this new student eligibility option:
"My passion for supporting employees in an organization and developing as an HR Professional has been incredibly important to me! Passing the SHRM-CP as a student with less experience was such a relief because it now really solidifies the knowledge that I learned throughout the VUHRD program and my internships. I would highly recommend preparing for and taking it - the exam is progressive and reflects the strategies that the Human Resources functions should be implementing!"

"Passing the SHRM-CP exam was like sweet relief. There is an actual countdown timer in the testing center while you wait for the score... agonizing, but all worth it in the end! I hope the certification sets the stage for a fantastic career in HR and hopefully at SAP, where I have been working in an internship! The student eligibility option was great. I would have taken the previously offered AOL exam, but was really glad that I had this student option for the CP so I could not only fulfill my degree requirements but also nab a certification before entering the workforce full-time."
