#VUHRDANR Social Impact Project | Making Blankets for Dawn's Place
With the VUHRD networking event only two days away, we are just about ready for all of our attendees! As you may know, this year's Annual Networking Reception is centered around businesses bettering the world and HR's role in CSR. We couldn't be more excited about the Social Impact Project we have prepared to exemplify this theme!
This year's event will include a social impact project benefiting Dawn's Place. Guests will have an opportunity to participate in this project in a variety of ways throughout the evening. Five dollars of each ticket purchased will be donated directly to Dawn's Place. Additionally, each guest is asked to bring one item from the Dawn's Place Wish List to the event that will be collected and donated to Dawn's Place. For every item donated or $10 cash donation made at the event, guests will receive a raffle ticket for several prizes we are giving away, including a 2016 Jay Wright signed Villanova Championship Basketball! (A 2016 championship ball is a collector's item after the 2018 win!)
During the event, guests will participate in a project to make blanket and sheets sets to be donated to Dawn's Place. No sewing ability is required and all items needed for this project will be provided during the event! You can see from these pictures that our Graduate Assistants have been working hard to prepare these blankets, and they are now lining the shelves of the HRD office awaiting our guests finishing touches during the event.
