Welcome Back #VillanovaHRD!

Where did the summer go? If you are like us, you're wishing you had worked in a few more beach days, a little extra sleep, and found the time to finish that home project you have had on your to-do list for the last six months before the school year officially started. But ready or not, the 2019-2020 academic year is upon us and we could not be any more excited to welcome back our returning students and welcome in our new students to the #VillanovaHRD program!

Last Wednesday evening was our new student orientation for our campus program and tonight will kick off our new student orientation for our online program. We have 75 new students starting the program this fall, for a total of more than 325 students both on campus and online. As always, our program has a very diverse population of students, coming from a variety of levels in HR, from all around the world (Russia, Saudia Arabia, China, Vietnam, Jordan, and India, just to name a few), and from all branches of the military! Thank you to all our students who serve!

Over the summer the Villanova HRD office suite got a makeover. We tore down some walls (no pun intended), got a fresh coat of paint in bright Villanova colors, ordered new furniture, and even made several new wall murals to remind us everyday why we do the work that we do! The Villanova HRD vision statement, creating global thought-leaders in HR who drive high performing, inclusive organizations and create meaningful work experiences, is a powerful reminder of the impact the HR education our students are receiving can have on their organizations, their employees, and their own lives.

We made each of these wall murals into stickers and printable PDF. If you would like a sticker for your laptop or planner, send us an email at gradhrdoffice@villanova.edu with your name, address, and sticker of choice. We will get one in the mail to you! We would also love to see pictures of our Villanova HRD students, faculty and alumni with one (or all) of these signs. This year marks 40 years of the HRD Program at Villanova! 40 years of educating HR leaders! While the world of HR has certainly changed over the last 40 years, as has the Villanova HRD program, the HR profession has never been more important than right now!
