Nova Network November | Power Up Your Professional Development This November
While the temperatures are cooling down, Villanova’s Experienced Career Services team is heating up for something exciting: the 2nd annual Nova Network November!
For those who aren’t familiar, Nova Network November is a month-long programming series dedicated to enhancing your professional development. We were thrilled to partner with the Office of Alumni Relations to create this initiative last year, engaging more than 1,500 Villanova alumni, parents, graduate students, and students in the College of Professional Studies. We hope to make an even bigger impact in 2020, especially for those navigating the effects of the pandemic on the job market.
All events will take place online, with something for nearly every Villanovan—whether you’re in an executive-level position or preparing to transition into a new industry. Here’s a preview of what we have planned:
IGNITE YOUR STRENGTHS
As part of the HRD community, you may have learned about the strengths-based approach to leadership and coaching. Some of you may have even taken the CliftonStrengths assessment through the University’s “Ignite Your Strengths” initiative. Either way, you can sign up for one of two dates on interpreting and understanding Strengths through the Villanova lens—including a chance to take the assessment if you haven’t yet. Later in November, you can take a deeper dive into the intersectionality of Strengths and Cultural Identity during a virtual ‘fire-side chat’.
EXPERT SPEAKERS AND TIMELY TOPICS
You have access to amazing faculty and alumni guest speakers as part of the HRD program. During Nova Network November, hear from more top faculty and staff across campus and notable alumni in various industries that you may not have encountered otherwise. Each Villanova-grown program is developed just for this series, making them timely and relevant. Featured topics include:

We know that updating your resume can be a chore, one that you leave until it’s absolutely necessary. As part of Nova Network November, we encourage you to polish your resume NOW to get ahead of whatever comes next—whether it be a promotion, career change or general networking. Choose from one of three sessions offered to meet with a masters-level career coach, via text chat, to get direct feedback on the appearance and effectiveness of your resume. Special thanks to the University Career Center and Villanova School of Business Career and Professional Development teams for volunteering their time as coaches!
