VUSHRM February Newsletter
How is it already March?! Even though February is the shortest month of the year, VUSHRM packed in some amazing programming for our members! In this newsletter, we will share a recap of those events, along with a snapshot of what's to come. As always, we hope to see you there!
February Event Recap
Valentine's Day Card Writing
Our second annual card writing campaign was a success! VUSHRM members joined in the HRD office in St. Mary's to write cards for Letters for Our Elders - a letter writing campaign that shares bios of seniors each month that the letters can be sent to. While there may not be letters being sent back, we loved getting to know some of these elders from their bios and sharing a nice letter to brighten their days!
HRD Alumni Networking Q&A
This past week we held our annual HRD Alumni event! It was an amazing night filled with networking and stories from alumni and current students. We hope to have another alumni connection event soon to help our current students with career advice and tips on how to navigate the program and transition into the workforce with their new degrees.

The focus of this presentation will be on evaluating the impact of key developments and hot topics emanating from the Biden Administration in wage and hour law, including those taking place at or through the U.S. Department of Labor, and of labor-related issues bubbling up at the National Labor Relations Board. We’ll consider and compare the most recent activities of the Biden Administration to those under the Trump Administration. We’ll also address some insight and thoughts about the impact of the mid-term elections and what the future holds in the employment regulatory realm. As always, I’ll do my best as your “fortune teller” to offer predictions and to provide guidance to help you navigate the world of employment law in 2023 and beyond.
